Client wanted a cleaner more updated look in their Dining Room. This was achieved by changing the existing color scheme of burgundy, teal and gold to a more neutral pale celery green and golden taupe color. This, combined with an antique style buffet, an oversized mirror and classic black and white accents, created a truly elegant and soothing place to dine. The kitchen was builder grade white. By completely removing all cabinets and designing the new ones to make more efficient use of limited space, a much more functional room was accomplished. Warm wood tones mixed with black and green created a flawless transition from the dining room. An artful mix of textures in the tile consisting of tumbled, glazed and glass varieties with an unexpected palette of creams and terra cottas created a wonderful backdrop. New granite pulled all the colors together. A casual country feel was achieved by adding decorative trim, an apron sink, and seeded glass. The breakfast area incorporated leather art and classic cow in pasture oil paintings for a sophisticated look while maintaining a bit of whimsy with the terra cotta clay pots, gardening tools, and ceramic animals.
